Deconstructing Character

The Protagonist: SYD

I used a bright solid colored background to represent the characters journey to enlightenment. I also used a golden outline to make the character seem powerful and significant. This is a very light character which resembles his good nature. The main characters story is very spiritual. His glowing aura represents his compassion and close relationship to nature. His colors will be vibrant and empowering to show he fights for the side of the light, or good.

I chose solid bright colors for his attire to resemble his simplistic lifestyle. I chose the hat to have the brightest color to represent knowledge and power. I didn't want the character to be too detailed that you lose grasp of what he stands for. Some of the aspects of the main character are very dark, this resembles his past lifestyle in the gritty city.
The characters shape is slender. This is a classic main character attribute. He doesn't really have super powers because he is an average human being, but he has super "abilities" i guess you could say. Shows he is capable and somewhat athletic when it comes to difficult tasks.

The Antagonist: ZAAR

Zaar is a very strange villain. He is from an alien world and our sense of style is very different from theirs. The lighting really shows contrast to make a bizarre looking character. He has a glass helmet and the light shine off it, which shows he is powerful and mysterious.

For the villains color I used green and purple because I felt this specific hues accent each other to create a sic-fi feeling or mood, yet it isn't completely sinister as the purple gives the villain a goofy characteristic. When I think of an alien species clothing or uniforms I think of vibrant colors. Since this is an evil character I think darker colors will really set the mood of the character.

The shape of the villain is much larger and more muscular than our hero. In reality we seem to think the bigger someone is the more powerful they are but in the game we have the opposite. This is to portray how important mental strength is in the story. This game is more about a spiritual journey rather than an epic adventure.
